life's choices

Life unfolds as an intricate skyscraper of decisions and challenges, each moment standing alone on a concrete floor meticulously stacked one atop the other. These choices loom over us, casting long shadows that influence our paths. At birth, we find ourselves positioned on the mid-levels of this towering edifice, where every step is a negotiation between ascent and descent, guided by the weight of our choices. Each stair we take leads us either upward to new heights or downward into the depths of our past decisions, shaping our journey profoundly.

Life is a series of choices

Some were chosen in haste

Consequences be dammed…

Others laboured far too long.

Clarity in tea leaves, cards

Mysteries of a Crystal Ball

One’s future is not known

No beacon of light in the fog

Steering us clear of danger

Clear of the rocks, choices

That wait for our fall

Is it humanities curse

Or a blessing…bestowed

Some choices are correct, as

Others yell out in challenge

Choices and decisions await

One can rise to our challenges

Or have others decide our path

Consequences reign for both

Written in the Book of Time

Without free will and choice

Humanity would be but a rock

Fixated in time with no future

No spirit…one without a soul
